Jonathan was originally employed by us to reconstruct and modernise a decking area at our residence in Mairangi Bay. Subsequently we have employed him to redesign and build the laundry, toilet and bathroom area.
Prior to commencement of both jobs Jonathan spent time with us discussing the various option we had, making us aware of council regulations and building code specifications. Initially we had our own ideas of what we wanted but Jonathan was quick to make alternative suggestions and office advice in order to make more efficient use of space and amenities available. Consequently we completely changed our minds and followed Jonathan’s advice being more than happy with the end result.
The latter of the 2 jobs involved removing an external door and replacing with a blocked wall, building an internal wall to separate the bathroom / toilet area from the laundry, constructing an internal doorway in an existing wall, all relevant gibbing and plastering, installation of new shower, toilet and vanity, painting and rewiring the whole area and tiling the floors.
Jonathan sourced and supervised outside contractors as necessary to make sure the job was done to a professional standard. He was also very flexible in allowing us to make changes as the job was in progress and took time every day to go over work in progress making sure we were happy. The job was completed quickly and efficiently and the site was left clean and tidy on completion.
We would be happy to recommend Jonathan to undertake any building work required – we will be using him again for further renovation work in the near future.
Jonny has performed extensive building and renovation work for me on a number of occasions. Initially he was contracted to build a large retaining wall in our back garden which was located on a steep slope. The work entailed a lot of earth leveling and landscaping prior to the construction of the actual retaining wall. Jonny did an excellent job for us and we obtained council approval with no problems.
The second piece of work Jonny performed for us was extensive renovations to a house we purchased in Australia. Based on our previous experience with Jonny we opted to fly him over from New Zealand for a period of three months while work was in progress. The job involved the removal of several internal walls along with subsequent rebuilding of ceilings and floors etc. Jonny was also required to build several new walls including the frames, boarding, plastering and painting.
The renovation work also included many additional tasks which included demolishing and removing existing fittings; installing plumbing such as toilets and basins; tiling and painting; fitting of doors and windows etc.
The last major work Jonny performed revolved around the construction of a large outdoor wooden fence along the side of the property accompanied by the placement of a contemporary glass fence around the pool area. He was also required to tile a large entertainment area beside the pool with high quality Italian tiles.
I would not hesitate to recommend Jonny’s services to anyone. He is honest, industrious, extremely hard working, highly skilled and very helpful.
